Goodbye (For the Foreseeable Future)

Hey guys and gals, it's been a while, hasn't it? Unfortunately I come bearing bad news, and that is that I have officially quit the hobby, and have no inverts left, (except for my pet rose hair tarantula, who I've had for too long to just give away). 😞

I tried just cutting my collection down to a few species, and that worked to help keep my anxiety and stuff down for a while, but over time I noticed that I had just lost my "spark", my passion for keeping invertebrates. I still love invertebrates, but I just want to observe them from a distance or in the wild now, I don't really enjoy keeping and breeding them myself anymore, not at the moment at least.

So, I've sold off everything in my collection, (except for the tarantula), and now without anything to post about, I suppose this blog will go into a permanent dormancy, unless I one day change my mind and come back to the hobby, (which is entirely possible).

Thanks so much to everyone who has followed this blog, I have appreciated your support throughout the years more than you can know! ☺ And again, thanks to all my hobby friends for always being there for me, you all have a special place in my heart!

There are a couple draft posts I made over the past few months that I never got around to publishing, which I'll post below this one for you all to read. I've also updated the Care Sheets page, with a new section for Panchlora sp. "White" and I updated some care information for a few others as well.

Well, I guess this is it, thank you all so much for reading, I hope you all continue to enjoy this hobby and use this blog as an information resource for many years to come, goodbye! ☺

  2. D: D: D: I still can't believe that this day would ever come. Someone like you departing makes me seriously wonder if anyone who says they'll never leave the hobby (even myself) could just be believing a lie. At lest you can go easy knowing that you've made more contributions to the hobby than almost anyone else in your time. I doubt your forum presence will ever be matched in at least my lifetime. Hopefully we can meet up again sometime where I'm welcoming you into the hobby like you did for me a bit over 2 years back. :) But even if not, I wish you luck in wherever you go next. Farewell! :)

    1. If there's one thing you can be certain of in life, it's that life is uncertain, some people might stay in the hobby until the day they die, and others like myself might develop new interests and leave this hobby behind, either path is fine so long as it makes them happy. :)
Yeah, I got my name and a few pictures into "For the Love of Cockroaches" introduced a new isopod morph into the hobby, and held an Archiblatta hoeveni female in my hand, (albeit a dead one), I pretty much can die happy now lol! XD
Maybe I'll be back one day, who knows, if I do come back I look forward to that welcome, as well as seeing what crazy new species have been introduced to the hobby! :D
Thanks man, farewell, I wish you luck with the hobby and life in general! :)

    1. I'm doing OK, I was pretty sad to be leaving the hobby, but I'm feeling better now. :) Hopefully if I can manage my anxiety a bit better I can come back to the hobby in the future...
