The prize was:
A dozen mixed Gyna lurida
A Trichorhina tomentosa colony of 24
And 4 Madagascan hissing cockroaches, (Probably hybrids).
Completely free of charge, even shipping is free!
Two of these species are new to me, I have never kept any of the Gyna species and have been wanting to for a while. The white dwarf isopods, Trichorhina tomentosa are also new to me, and I will hopefully be using them as clean up crews in some of my cages!
I also wanted more hissers on the off chance my 5 females weren't pregnant, now I will hopefully get a male and they will all be mated! :)
Josh said that he will be shipping them around the 22nd of this month, so I am looking forward to that! I will let you guys know how the shipping goes!
Sorry for the lack of posts, to be honest, not much has happened to blog about. Most of my content has been about roaches recently, and that is due to the fact that most of my collection consists of roaches.
The two main projects I am working on right now besides all my roaches are my Pterostichus breeding project, and my Jerusalem cricket breeding project. When it gets warmer I will hopefully be able to collect some new beetles and other invertebrates. I may get into keeping some local spiders, lycosids, gnaphosids, etc.
Last year I was not able to collect much due to the fact that I have developed some sort of problem with my skin, I get unbearably itchy when I get sweaty. So in the warmer months I stayed indoors, and was not able to collect anything last year. Hopefully this year I will overcome this problem, I really want to collect some new bugs this year and I have some great ideas for good invertebrate-hunting spots.
So that's what has been going on lately, I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and hopefully I will be getting more posts out to you guys soon! :)
