Ergaula capucina update

Well, I now have an adult male female pair! I have long suspected one of my nymphs was a subadult female, so for the past few weeks I've been impatiently waiting for it to molt, and today I checked the container and found a beautiful adult female staring up at me! I am happy to have a adult pair, and I can't wait to start seeing babies! (Though that will take a very long time, the eggcases take many months to hatch). I caught some footage of the male courting the female, and though he ultimately failed, it still was cool to watch. I'll try and upload the video to youtube sometime this week. Anyway, here are some pictures!

It is quite interesting how the male and female look so different from each other. They both have a velvety "shine" to them that the camera does not capture, especially on the male. These guys look even cooler in person, and I highly recommend them to anyone who loves to keep roaches! Hope you guys enjoyed! :)

Egyptian sand roach adult male!

One of my Polyphaga aegyptiaca nymphs matured into an adult male! Another one of them is a subadult female, or pretty close to that, so I'll soon have an adult pair! My male has an unusual white area on his wings, and it does not seem to be because he is freshly molted. Here are some pics!

The wings on this guy look quite primitive, to me it's like taking a look into a long forgotten age when humans didn't even exist, when bugs ruled the earth. After all, roaches have been around since before the dinosaurs, and probably will still be here when we are gone. Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed this post! :)

More roach adults!

Well look who decided to get off his lazy butt and write a blog post! Lots of my roaches have molted to adulthood since my last post, so let's get to it, shall we?

So, one of my Ergaula capucina nymphs molted into an adult male, and it is quite nice looking! You can't really see it in the pics, but this guy is covered in brown, velvety hairs. Another nymph looks like it will mature soon, and I'm pretty sure its gonna be a female!

Another horseshoe crab roach molted to adulthood, and I now have a male female pair! (with the newest adult being the male). Here are some pics:

And finally, two more question mark roaches matured, one male, and one female! (at least I think so).
Also, the male is what they call an "irregular" morph, his question mark melds together with his spots. Here are some pics:
