Yup, not only has Ty very successfully bred his Salganea raggei over the past year, but he sent me a starter colony of 7 nymphs as well! 😁 I now have all species of Panesthiinae currently in the US hobby... Gotta say, I'm kinda hooked on this subfamily. 😂
I've got my nymphs set up in a minimally ventilated container with several inches of rotting wood substrate, and I'm keeping them humid and cool (68-74F°). I'll be offered fruits as supplemental food regularly, as well as dog food from time to time.
Here are some pictures of the cuties:
Salganea nymphs are so oddly similar to termites, it's weird! Hopefully in a year or so I'll have adults, fingers crossed! 🤞
Anyways, that's gonna do it for today's post, but stick around, got lots of new acquisitions to cover! 😁 Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed, and I'll see you all next time! 😉
